  • Review 4 Ivory Lounge: Comfortable, but expensive bar. Fantastically plush, but staff a little slow, even when quiet. Food looks good value. #

  • Review 5 Daniel’s Bistro: Excellent value for money in a smart contemporary setting. French / Scottish cuisine, with polite attentive staff. #
  • @debbiemet Sorry, it’s in Edinburgh. By the time I add location, I’ve really no space left to leave a meaningful review! Will add map on LV. #
  • Review 5 The Granary: Lovely grand barn of a pub, with a really nice, comfortable feel and plenty of places to sit. Relaxed atmosphere also. #
  • Review 5 The Waterline: Lovely pub in a beautiful setting on the side of the Water of Leith. Relaxing atmosphere and a good menu too. Smart. #
  • Review 5 Scotch Malt Whisky Society: Awesome stylish private club with immense selection of whiskies not available anywhere else. Wonderful. #
  • Review 4 Slug and Lettuce: Not bad for a chain pub. Huge food portions and comfy seating. Best bar in the Omni Centre, and rarely too busy. #
  • Review 5 Cameo Bar: Wonderfully decorated bar with comfortable seats and great bar food. Pleasant staff and good choice of drinks. A winner. #
  • @debbiemet What a cheek! ;-) Seriously though, they were all pubs I visited yesterday, apart from Daniel’s which is where we went for lunch. #
  • Review 5 A Room in the West End: Vibrantly painted walls in this quaint basement restaurant. Good food and a lively atmosphere. Recommended. #
  • Review 5 The Grain Store: Gorgeous inside with rustic charm. The menu is a wonderful French / Scottish mix. The food is to die for. Amazing! #
  • @debbiemet Come on, admit it - the problem is, I’m making you hungry, and thirsty too! I can almost hear your stomach growling from here :-) #
  • Review 2 The Voodoo Rooms: Great bar and cocktails, but poor service in the restaurant. One meal was cold. Pity, as it’s a gorgeous setting. #
  • @debbiemet Brownies? Did someone mention brownies?? Are there any left??? They really ought to be a food group on their own! Nom nom nom :-) #
  • Review 5 Ristorante Librizzi: Fabulous Sicilian restaurant in the centre of Edinburgh. Beautifully decorated, and with very attentive staff. #
  • Review 1 Pancho Villa’s: I hope I just caught this restaurant on a bad day. The food was tasteless, and the noise level is atrocious. Avoid. #
  • Review 5 Dusit Thai: A gorgeous Thai restaurant in a very central location. Wonderful food, all spiced and seasoned exactly right. Knockout! #
  • Review 4 Howie’s: A Scottish restaurant in a very grand setting in the centre of town. The food is lovely but can be a little rich at times. #
  • Review 5 Loch Fyne: Superb quality seafood restaurant in a lovely setting beside the Firth of Forth. Great service, great staff, great menu! #
  • Review 5 Calistoga: Incredible American restaurant, with fantastic food and wine. Tiny, so make sure to book in advance. A favourite for me. #
  • Review 4 Cafe Marlayne: Stunning surroundings, and very high quality French food. The service is a tad on the slow side, but why not savour? #
  • Review 4 First Coast: Describes itself as a quality neighbourhood bistro, but this undersells it a little. Good food in comfortable setting. #
  • Review 5 Stanhope Arms: My local pub when I visit London. Has a nice mixture of clientele, and some well looked after beers including Pride. #
  • Review 4 Prince Regent: Not a bad pub, but a bit tired looking inside. A nice atmosphere, though, with friendly bar staff. Will visit again. #
  • Review 4 Cafe Royal: Well-known landmark of a pub, with huge tiled portraits and little “booths”. OK for groups if they get there early-ish. #
  • Review 4 Guildford Arms: Nice real ale pub, bang in the centre of town. Amazing Jacobean ceiling. Does quality bar food. Staff are nice too. #
  • Review 5 The Newsroom: I really like this place. It’s modern but very comfortable. The food is great value. Oh, it sells draught Peroni too! #
