The process of adding a site is excellent, and will even take a graphic snapshot of the site you’re adding. Full tagging facilities are also available. All of the members I’ve been in contact with have been very friendly, which is a bonus.

I hadn’t really intended to start this off today. Ah, the best laid plans…

A while back, I had decided to do some serious homework and find out what blogs were already out there, what services were around to help bloggers, and whether I wanted to be a “doer” or a “doee”.

Recently, I signed up for an account at MyBlogLog, now part of Yahoo!. It’s a clever way for bloggers to get in touch with their readers and vice versa, with a nice friendly feel to to it. Blog owners can see who’s visited their sites, and can chat with the readers on MyBlogLog. Bloggers can set up their own communities there, too - a cool feature.

I found a few good reads (Google Reader, yet more RSS for you!) just by looking at what other members were reading, and I’ve joined a number of communities. I’m very impressed with the feel of the site. Yahoo! seems to have a knack at acquiring all manner of interesting companies, such as del.icio.us and Flickr.

However, on my MyBlogLog page (try saying that three times, quickly), I received a public comment from Gregg Scott (”Gweggy”) in which he suggested I might be a spammer. In a private message (a public apology would have been more appropriate) he has indicated that this is because I don’t have a blog.

So now Gregg’s got me thinking. Is MyBlogLog only intended for bloggers? Does everyone who reads a blog have to have their own blog? MC Escher would love this. Please tell me that Yahoo! think otherwise…
