Google reads The Far Corner
Someone in the Googleplex read this post:
How do I know this? I just checked my stats, and I had a visit from this referring URL (I’ve had to cut this in two to allow it to fit in a single post):
cabbage.corp.google.com:
8005/reader/view/
This is the hostname:
216-239-45-4.google.com
StatCounter had reported the browser as Firefox 2.0.0, but this information is incorrect, and I would have been surprised if Google were using an insecure version anyway. Here’s the correct header information from FireStats:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3.

Did you expect to write Google in the title and not get seen by them? Hahahaha…. they search for this stuff all the time. Mention AdSense in a post and the same thing will happen. I know, I check my referrers too.

How on earth do they find the time?

They have a whole department that monitors their public relations and another that monitors AdSense stuff. Those people do nothing but that particular tasks.
